Hong Kong Geopark and the Hong Kong Science Museum will jointly organize six public lectures from July to October 2021, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark and the opening of Earth Science Gallery in the Hong Kong Science Museum.Local geologists, history and culture experts, ecological experts, and community representatives of Hong Kong Geopark will be invited to introduce the features of Hong Kong Geopark from various perspectives, including geology, ecology, and local culture and history.

  • All lectures will be delivered in public live broadcast mode via Zoom, the number of participants is limited to 200. If the limit is reached, latecomers will need to wait until someone leaves the online meeting room.

It will be staged in major geopark communities (ApChau, Kat O, Lai Chi Wo, Kau Sai Village and Sam Mun Tsai) and at the HighIsland Reservoir East Dam in November and December. Activities will include guided tours, traditional cultural performances, and various cultural and art workshops.Visitors can enjoy an in-depth experience of Hong Kong Geopark’s uniquegeology, ecology and heritage. These events are ideal for the whole family.

Hexagonal Adventure Design Competition
JUN-JUL
Jointly organised with the Architectural Services Department, this competition will invite professionals related to building industry to design a viewing platform in Sai Kung East Country Park near Fa Shan overlooking Po Pin Chau, and associated hiking facilities. The winner may be invited to take part in the implementation and construction of the viewing platform and associated facilities.
